Bob Marley - Original Mixed Media Painting

Bob Marley painting by Ben Goymour. This original mixed media work explores the music, identity and enduring cultural influence of one of the most recognisable figures of the twentieth century.

Built through layers of paint, expressive brushwork, drips, handwritten text and raw mark making, the portrait incorporates references including Jamaica, One Love, Redemption, Feel Alright and Don’t Worry About a Thing.

Rather than simply reproducing a familiar image, Ben uses these fragments of words, colour and texture to build a wider sense of Marley’s character, music and cultural legacy. Areas of close observation sit alongside looser, more instinctive passages of paint, giving the work a strong physical presence.

The hand painted frame forms part of the composition itself, allowing colour, marks and text to continue beyond the central image.
