Winston Churchill painting by Ben Goymour. This original mixed media portrait combines expressive colour, layered paint, collage, text and energetic mark making to create a powerful contemporary interpretation of Churchill.
 
Deep blues, rust reds, pale yellows and flashes of pink move across the surface, while references including Victory, VE Day, Never Surrender and wartime aircraft are worked into the composition. Rather than sitting separately from the portrait, these elements become part of the painting itself, building atmosphere and visual depth around the central figure.
 
Ben leaves much of the process visible, allowing brushwork, splashes, drawn lines and layered fragments to remain exposed. The result is an original Winston Churchill painting with a strong physical surface and a distinctly contemporary character.
