Yellow Cabs, New York - Original Cityscape

This original oil painting is from my new 2023 Cityscape collection.

This painting is built up with many layers of oil paint. I start with my darkest colours and bring depth and motion with layering lighter colours. I using a combination techniques I spent many years developing including pallet knives and brushes.

When I created my Cityscape style, I wanted it to be completely different to my Sea and Landscapes. I didn't
 want to get caught up in realism, I wanted to be free and expressive, and create something unique and very much "in the moment".
